EOCEP Middle and High School Testing Information
The End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) is a statewide assessment program of end-of-course tests for gateway courses awarded units of credit in English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. EOCEP examination scores count for 20 percent in the calculation of the student’s final grade.
EOCEP courses include:
- Algebra 1
- Intermediate Algebra
- Biology 1
- English 2
- US History and the Constitution
In Dorchester School District Two, the assessments will be administered on the following dates:

Additional Reminders:
- Students should arrive at school on time each day of testing with their fully charged school device.
- Doctor’s appointments and other out-of-school functions should be avoided on the scheduled testing dates.
- Students may not be in possession of any personal electronic device(s) during the test administration that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images, or storing images except for necessary and approved medical devices. This includes, but is not limited to cell phones, smart watches, Bluetooth headphones/earbuds, smart glasses, etc.
- Consequences include but are not limited to, invalidation of test score, receiving a zero on the test, suspension or expulsion from school, and investigation by local police or the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) with possible criminal charges or other civil or legal sanctions.

Test Security Policies and Procedures for Cell Phones/Electronic Devices
EOCEP 2024–2025
Students (You) have the responsibility to protect the confidentiality of the statewide assessments (Fall/Winter EOCEP). All test materials are the property of the SCDE or its contractor. Theft of test materials or compromising their security or confidentiality—such as copying, videoing, or sharing content—is prohibited under South Carolina law.
Specifically, no one may reproduce, copy, record, distribute, broadcast, or share any part of the material presented during a test session. Dissemination of content similar to test items, in any form, is also forbidden.
Students (You) may not possess any electronic device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images, or storing images. These devices include, but are not limited to:
- Cell phones
- Media players
- Electronic readers
- Smart watches
- Headphones
You will be given an opportunity to power down your devices and place them in your bookbag prior to testing. Bookbags will remain on the perimeter of the room for the duration of the session. If found in possession of a cell phone or electronic device during testing, the device will be collected and turned in to an administrator, and you will receive an office referral.
Consequences of Misconduct
- Invalidation of the test score / Receiving a zero on the test
- Suspension or expulsion from school
- Investigation by local police or SLED with possible criminal charges or other civil or legal sanctions
* Students who use an electronic device for medical purposes may be allowed access during testing, with prior approval and documentation.
** All other cell phone infractions during exams will be handled according to DD2’s student code of conduct regarding electronic devices and cheating.
